Web engineering
I work across the stack, with a recent focus on front-end and UI work backed by Node.js. That can mean a small, focused website or part of a larger product.

Hi, I’m an independent web engineer based in Tokyo. My work tends to happen where technology meets people: building the web, clarifying ideas, and teaching for the next generation.

What I do
I work across the stack, with a recent focus on front-end and UI work backed by Node.js. That can mean a small, focused website or part of a larger product.
I help turn an early idea into something buildable, or take a closer look at a service that is already running and needs a clearer next step.
I support work that crosses Japanese and English through translation, interpretation, and the practical coordination that keeps international projects moving.
My background includes teaching in different settings and an ongoing interest in anthropology and sociology. I am comfortable with unusual questions and interdisciplinary work.
Working together
I work with people in Japan and elsewhere, and remote projects are welcome. Obalab is a small, personal practice, and I prefer direct communication and a thoughtful pace.
